A useful bulk SMS template identifies your business, gives one clear reason for contacting the customer and explains what to do next. These 16 English and Swahili examples help small businesses in Tanzania promote offers, confirm bookings and share order updates. Choose the language your customers prefer and adapt each message before sending.
How to personalise these SMS templates
Replace uppercase placeholders such as BRAND, DATE, TIME, LOCATION, PHONE, OFFER and REF with your business details, local dates and times, working contact number, promotion code or reference. Send one language version per customer. All offers are illustrative; confirm availability, discounts and deadlines before using them.
Promotional templates include the DARSMS unsubscribe page. Recipients enter their phone number and sender name there. Explain this route to customers and honour opt-outs. A branded Sender ID does not provide a reply inbox, so do not promise that replying STOP will unsubscribe them.

Send promotions only to customers who agreed to receive marketing; a purchase or booking alone does not establish that permission. Keep service reminders factual and tied to a real transaction. Adding a discount to a reminder makes it promotional content and requires the appropriate marketing permission and opt-out.
The character counts above include spaces and the displayed opt-out text. Each example uses one standard GSM SMS segment as written. Personalisation changes the count: longer names, locations or links can add segments. One standard SMS holds 160 GSM units; longer messages use 153 per part. Unicode messages allow 70 units, or 67 per part. Check the final preview, especially after adding emoji or special characters.
Test on your own phone, check every contact detail and send at a reasonable hour. Track unique offer codes, bookings or collected orders alongside campaign costs. Delivery reports show delivery status, not proof of reading or sales. Start with a small customer group in DARSMS and improve the next campaign using actual responses.
